The first cricket match played on the Swans Nest Lane ground took place on Saturday June 2nd 1894 between Stratford 1st XI and Flowers Brewery, meaning that Stratford-upon-Avon Cricket Club has played at the same venue for almost 130 years.
Tree-lined and overlooked by the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, it is one of the most picturesque grounds in the region, and has played host to a number of Warwickshire’s First Class matches, as well as a Women’s One Day International.
We normally have three senior teams; a 1st XI and 2nd XI in the Birmingham & District Premier League, and the Stratford Bards (3rd XI) in the Cotswold Hills League. We also will have a range of non-league Sunday and midweek fixtures throughout the summer.
The club also has a thriving junior section with over 100 members. We normally run five sides from U9 to U17, competing in the Warwickshire Cricket Board competitions. We also cater for age groups below U9 with outdoor coaching sessions starting at Swans Nest Lane from April, 6:00-7:30pm.
If you are interested in joining the club as a playing or non-playing member, please contact us.
