Persons of not less than 18 years of age shall be eligible for full membership. Full membership shall be annual and will run from the 1st April. Subscriptions will fall due on that date and any full member failing to pay his subscription by 30th April will be deemed to have terminated his membership.

A candidate for full membership is required to complete the appropriate application form on which shall be inc1uded name in full, residence, occupation and date of birth. On receipt of the application form by the Section Committee the form shall be posted prominently on the Section notice board for 28 days during which the candidate shall be entitled to use the facilities of the Section (but not those of the bar or any other part of the Club) for a trial period. Within this 28 day period the application form must be signed by a proposer and seconder both of whom shall be existing members of the Section and who shall vouch from their personal knowledge for the suitability of the candidate.

On expiry of the 28 day period the candidate will be considered by the Section Committee which shall decide whether or not to elect the candidate to membership of the Section always provided that such membership shall not be withheld on the grounds of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.

Upon election of a candidate notice of election shall be given to the applicant with a request to remit to the Treasurer within 28 days, from the date of such request, the amount of entrance fee and first subscription. Any omission from or inaccuracy in the particulars inserted in the candidate's application form may at the Section Committee's discretion invalidate the proposal and any election made in consequence of it.

The Section Committee is authorised to create membership categories other than that of full member and upon such terms and conditions (inc1uding subscription) as it shall deem appropriate.

Every member of the Section shall from time to time communicate to the Secretary his address or that of his banker or agent and all notices sent by first class post to such address shall be considered as having been given on the day following the date of posting.

EXPULSION OF MEMBERS

It shall be the duty of the Section Committee if at any time it shall be of the opinion that the interests of the Section so require, by letter to invite any member to withdraw from the Section within a time specified in such letter, and in default of such withdrawal to submit the question of his expulsion to the Directors of the Club for action in accordance with Article 7 of the Articles of Incorporation of the Club.

2009 Membership
SUBSCRIPTIONS - The club have retained the CFC (Central Fund Contribution) at the present level of £40 per member and the snooker committee have decided this year to leave our own subscription at the same figure - £90.

NEW MEMBERS - Whilst the section lost 8 members last spring it is pleasing to note that during the year we attracted 21 new members so our memberships now stands at 116. We extend a warm welcome to all our new members.

FUTURE COMMUNICATIONS - We wish to keep in touch with members on a regular basis and sending information via post gets more expensive, therefore, we would ask members who have computer access to provide their email address on their renewal sheet. These members will receive emails of future newsletters and events. When the website is approved news and events will also be broadcast to members via this new method.

CONTACT NUMBER - Will all members please insert their present contact number on the renewal sheet as it is some time since our records were last updated.
